Our Philosophy

The Country Village Day School mission is to be an excellent early childhood education program providing quality care for children ages six weeks through Pre-K. Our goal is to consistently embody the qualities found in a loving home–a caring, nurturing, safe and educational atmosphere.

We promote learning through the use of age appropriate educational methods and materials. Our goal is to prepare each child for elementary education and personal growth through a healthy and stimulating environment.

Our teachers and staff are our most valued and important assets. We strive to attract and retain only the highest caliber of staff dedicated to fulfilling our mission. We encourage and support their ongoing professional development and growth.

The school was founded on the belief that our children are the future. Through our loving, play- centered learning programs, we build in our children a strong sense of self-esteem, respect for all peoples and the environment, communities, our nation, and our world.

Country Village Day School currently has openings for our Pre-K programs.  Space is limited.  Please contact us to schedule a tour!

Enrollment Procedures

Country Village is currently enrolling for ages six weeks through six years of age.  Space is limited.  Children attending Country Village on a part time basis may extend their time by paying an hourly fee after their part time care.  These hours must be prearranged so we can make certain we have adequate staff to care for the children.  Availability and options are dependent on your desired start date, age of your child and desired hours.

Consideration of enrollment should begin with a visit to our school.  Tours are given Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9AM-11:30AM by appointment.  Please call or email to schedule a tour.  Should you have questions regarding registration materials, an administrator is always available to answer your questions.  During tours, we encourage you to bring your child/children to our facility so they too can get a feel for the school.  You will be responsible for completing various enrollment papers, including registration, immunization, health history and other required forms before your child's first day, as well as payment of the registration fee.

Country Village Day School does accept state aid (DSHS) as tuition payment.  For more information, visit their website:  fortress.wa.gov/dshs/f2ws03esaapps/onlinecso/wccc.asp  Mercer Island Youth and Family Services also offers scholarships:  www.mercergov.org/SectionIndex.asp?SectionID=45

Enrollment is expected for the entire enrollment period.  It is the responsibility of the parets/guardians to notify the school at least one month (30 days) in advance of withdrawing, if disenrollment occurs prior to the end of the enrollment period, or if enrollment paperwork has been completed for future enrollment periods.

It is the prerogative of the school to decide if a child may no longer attend.  Reasons for termination of a child's enrollment status may include, but are not limited to:

  • Non-payment of tuition
  • Behavior problems, such as excessive hitting or biting that is disruptive to the education of other children
  • Threats to the safety of children or staff

Termination will result only after modification strategies have been exhausted to the comfort level of CVDS.  Our priority is to provide a positive experience for all children and families.
